Global perspective of an Irish expat with a serious case of wanderlust who has visted 60+ countries while living on 5 continents. My passion is travel. WARNING! - may contain nudity, bad language and Irish humour! ClikZ d' PiXz! ->
Hope you had a great time in Buenos Aires. I'm Argentinean, sort of a "wild rover" like yourself, I live in France now but I've recently been to Ireland. I just loved it. I visited Galway, Killarney, Cork, a couple of small towns like Tarbert and Listowel among other places and... Dublin! Great city, great places and fantastic people. This trip was like a "dream coming true", I always wanted to visit Ireland, well, being of Irish origin myself (half Irish and half... french and gallician... you know "celtic Spain"), it (kind of) makes sense... but now I'm seriously thinking of leaving the "frogs" (lol) and going to Ireland, at least for a few months... I've a lot of questions and I would like to keep in contact with you, if you agree, maybe we can exchange our experiences...

Hola Quickroute,
ReplyDeleteCalifornian with similar hobo habits. I haven't had time to live abroad but have tried to travel as much and as far as I can for weeks or months at a time. I'm off to BA in January (hopefully for a year but at least until August). Wouldn't mind making a new friend when I land in BATown.
Cheers,
Ted
@ Ted: Sounds good - It's always good to travel - Stretches the pocket but broadens the mind!
ReplyDeleteHey there, just stumbled onto your blog and I like it! It helps that I'm a bit of a wanderer myself and I'm about to head down to BA in a couple of months. I'll be doing some serious reading around here before I do though because you seem to know what you're on about. :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Kirsty
@ Kirsty: Thanks for dropping in - I think you're gonna like BA - Any Q's just let me know
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog (via nomadicmatt). Like you I'm a green-card-lottery winner. Like you I started wandering early, but an unplanned little one in 1996 stopped that fairly sharpish. Am now in Seattle but planning a RTW with husband and two kids. Check me out at www.wandermom.com.
ReplyDelete@Wandermom: Liked your site - let's keep in touch
ReplyDeleteOi, you short arsed Paddy, get yourself a decent Job and settle down.

@Bob Rav Dave and Vix:

Hiya! I´m a Paddy in Madrid; back here for 2nd time after 5 years in Doubalin..great being back here though this time I have a little paddyargie to go along with my Argie missus..havent been there yet..tell me more about how they really are in baires..dypad@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteBizarre - I'm a Paddy who just moved back to Dublin having been away for 14 years, the last 5 of which were in Madrid, and my other half is also Argento. Been there lots of times and we're considering taking over the family business in the north of Argentina (none of your cushy bankin' lark for me!).
ReplyDeleteDiscovered your blog through argentinosenirlanda.com - they like that mirror-thing of being in Ireland and seeing how an Irishman is doing in their country!
I think you've got Paddy in Madrid to thank for posting your link on there.
@ Anony Paddy#1: - thanks visiting for posting the link - I'll have to check it out
ReplyDelete@ Anony Paddy#2: small world - seems us paddys get everywhere - I've been to the north and it's beautiful
