The Sign of the Times

It seems there are lots of rules in Hong Kong. Some are written, some are unwritten and some are posted on signs. I like the visual signs. A picture says a thousand words etc. I've been a man of few words recently (thank Jaezuz says you) so to continue that theme - here is a selection of a few pics I've snapped recently. So without further ado or verbal diarrhea here's my pics!

p.s. Today is my birthday so the drinks are on YOU (check final photo and you'll see what I mean!)

  3. Those signs give the impression that not very much is permitted. No doubt there's also a sign somewhere saying "No pouring of the beer down the intimate areas".

Hope you have a fabulous birthday.

  7. Happy Birthday! Sorry I missed the right day, but yes, I'd love you to have a drink on me.

Love the pictures. We once had a Japanese imported Mitsubishi jeep that came with a manga-style manual. One I remember was a picture of the jeep with a frowny-face, yellow jagged lines around it to show it exploding, and a red circle with diagonal line... all saying (it seemed) "Don't blow up your car".

  11. happy birthday goother

We´re in Mallorca and I´ve been off email for several days trying to disconnect, literally. Hope you had a great one. Only 8 years till we can celebrate the 50th. Yahooo. That´ll be fun. It´s great craic getting old. We should organise a big night for the 50th. Start planning now while we can still think. Hire Red Hurley or some other chart topper. Do you want your old lobby washed down Con Shine.....

  12. The best I've seen was in Japan, outside a friends gaff beside a school. It said (using one of the Japanese phonetic alphabets)

    "Beware of perverts".

It wasn't actually for the school, it was (apparently) for foriegners (hence the Japanese?)

    Thrifty: perverted jap kids?
