Warning - Violence Imminent

I have a series of rants to get off my chest so here goes.

The new dickwad neighbours in apartment upstairs - seem to be celebrating their new digs by playing some shit loud music and collectively jumping off the bed from a height onto the floor above our bedroom at 2am - I AM going to kick some fu(king Argie arse if it continues! - you have been warned!

We're going thru a heatwave here - thank jaezuz for AC - but every other day it rains and the temp drops 5 celcius and then the mozzies feast on me like a northside Dubliner on a kebab at 3am. I have more lumps on my back than a ski mogul slalom course - Blood sucking fiends!

Both my UK atm and credit card no longer work because my 'friendly' bank decided to 'upgrade' my cards and deactivate the old ones rendering the old cards invalid. They require me to be IN the UK to sign for the delivery of the replacements (no exceptions) - fuckwads!.

My US atm card charges me u$d3 per withdrawl and gives me a shitty exchange rate and limits my max to Arg$600 pesos (u$d200) per day - Gets tricky if you have a big ticket item - Wankers!

New dickwad neighbours in apartment upstairs still continuing their shit - WW3 hath arrived! - wish me luck!

My favorite actor's lines is:

Tomorrow is another day.

Yeah, It's from Gone With the Wind. :)

Back in college the people below us used to get narked, one just gave out, the other was more creative and would say "Listen lads, this jumpin around de gaff is makin de plaster fall from de ceelin and it's lodgin in the crack o me arse when I'm shaggin me bord, ya knaow?" We liked him. And his "Bord" was well hot.

@Megan: Bring it on!

@iWalk: Old movie but still a good one

@Thrifty: He was right - plaster in yer crack gives you a rash

Get into your birthday suit and walk upstairs.

"Ok, who wants to wrestle?!"

They should stop for a day or two but this may need repeated on a weekly basis.

You know the same thing happened to me once (not the plaster in the arse).

I set up my cd player on repeat to Fight the Power by Public Enemy on my way out to work, obviously loud enough for the wanker upstairs to listen to it clearly.

The nice thing about rap music is that the base travels very well.

I came home, turned it off and enjoyed a much quieter atmosphere.

Have a round of Amhrán na bhFiann and Ireland's Call early in the morning and remind the argie of the results from Croke Park.

I've heard about the ATM fiasco. I guess I'll just have to accept it. The rest of the world isn't as keen on using the fantastic plastic as us North Americans.

C'est La Craic December 05, 2008 11:29 am

If they're making noise at 2am, make noise at 8am when they're all dieing from their hangovers. I find in these situations that an electric guitar and a distorsion pedal sends a pretty powerful message.

Xbox4NappyRash December 05, 2008 1:24 pm

a big sweaty nekkid Irishman banging on their door at 4 am would sort them out...

Quickroute December 05, 2008 3:22 pm

@Broke: I'm afraid they'd call my bluff

@Frank: Nice one - I have some 320bpm techno that'll do just the trick

@TCL: I feel a scrum coming on - try and conversion

@Cest La Craic: yes a bit of Jimmy Hendrix should shut the fu(kers up

@Xbox: I keep visualizing the upstairs neighbour could be gimp from pulp fiction

Check out Charles Schwabb. No ATM fees and a great rate. Suerte!

Nicole December 06, 2008 10:06 am

Shit!
Best of Luck for your WW3 solutions!
Banks suck these days.
We were lucky to get hubby's card, hopefully mine will come too. Our bank charges $6 approx. per ATM use.
Hope you get things solved without shooting either the neighbors or your bank people.

Stevo | China Travel December 06, 2008 9:12 pm

I wish you luck with your arse kicking. Perhaps you could gift them the "fish" fridge to get even?

Az December 06, 2008 11:29 pm

Yeah, HSBC - incompetent bastards!
Still, they try, bless them...

Quickroute December 07, 2008 10:01 am

@VE: ooh provocative

@Fida: Thanks

@Living: I'll check it out - cheers

@Nicole: Thanks - yikes $6 - I thought I had it bad

@Stevo: splendid idea

@AZ: yeah HSBC have a bad rep too

King of New York Hacks December 07, 2008 8:28 pm

Of all the banks in the world you had to step into that on. ..enter casablanca music

Nomadic Matt December 08, 2008 1:49 am

ironic you picked a scotsman to represent your anger....

Shaunj December 08, 2008 4:39 pm

I do really hate banks also. But my bitterness consumes me on this subject so I shall digress.

Speaking about noisy nieghbours, I feel your pain big time. But the sooner you scare their ass the better. When I lived in Australia we had 100 taiwanese students living upstairs from us in a one bedroom apartment- Oh yeah they had a tendency to do somersaults at 4am in the morning(simultaneously it seemed). This drove me to the edge of despair. It took me months to get over it.

Mark H December 09, 2008 1:01 am

There must be groups of people who sit at banks and design new ways to gouge money from everyone. Whoever invented the ATM fee must have got the equivalent of a banker's knighthood or Oscar or whatever.

Quickroute December 09, 2008 9:08 am

@ King of NY Hacks: 'Pay' it again Sam

@ Matt: Actually an Aussie portraying a Scotsman portraying a Irishmans anger

@ Shaunj: 100 in a 1 bedroom - imaginge the queue for the shower

@ Mark H: I hope we find out who he is so he can get a beating
