Procrastination is bad or is it?

If my life right now were to be flow charted it would look exactly like this. If you locked me in a padded cell with no lights (which is probably where I should be!) and told me to count to ten, I would probably get no further than # three before I found a distraction like the buzz of a mosquito or the smell of toe jam or a fart (not mine obviously) to send me off on a tangent. Hmmm.. I wonder if mosquitoes fart? - Ha! - See what I mean!

I tried meditating in the park today out of desperation to clear my head after reading this blog post by Fida. After 4 minutes of what I thought was progress, I realized I was covered in ants and jumped up quickly and did a little Adam anti-Ant dance much to the amusement of passers by. I think I'll try electroshock therapy later. Must go now and find a car battery and some jump leads. But how many volts/amps?

A car battery's voltage is too low to be effective. If you ran the jumpers from your computer's power supply there might be a little more juice.

I procrastinate, but when I'm proactive I feel so much better.

I'm so not enlarging that, and I'm so wondering how Fida will survive...

You should have waited, the ants might have carried you somewhere you'll never know

I have the attention span of a ....uhm....what was this all about?

My own flow chart wouldn't be so complicated. I think it would be just a very meandering line as I wandered vaguely from one disconnected activity to the next with very little sense of purpose. That's what being out of work does for you!

I've commented on the subject of procrastination in the past.

"If procrastination were a super power, I'd rule the world with a mighty sword......but not until later."

@ Stevo: Ah Splendid! someone with experience in self applied eletro shock therapy

@ Megan: Yeah - Fida in a word is "Brave" !

@ Conortje: True - I could be ruler of an ant colony by now - sigh!

@ Nicole B: I know what you....wait who are you again?

@ Nick: same result just different visual!

@ Broke: lol - I'd be torn between and mighty sword or a gun or....

Broke's comment is the best.

Go to the pub and sort it out. Wait . . . already did that.

Baino January 10, 2009 3:39 am

Haha . . you are not alone my man. These days I have to write lists LISTS I HATE LISTS but if I don't I just jump from one thing to another and my brain explodes which is no good for the paintwork. Teds answer works for me.

Was there ever a nemisis to concentration, when you're easily distracted, as great as the internet?

I ment to comment sooner but... well you know the way...

Quickroute January 11, 2009 10:38 pm

@ Megan: It's a good un!

@ TCL: Yeah the pub is always a great idea but nought much gets resolved

@ Baino: I know - if I ever get organised I'll probably go insane

@ C'est Le Craic: It's a blessing and a curse but mostly a curse

If the computer doesn't work, you could just stick a fork in an electrical socket.

That flow chart exactly describes my thought processes! LOL!

I once was covered in ants while just standing in my garden. Turns out I was on an ant hill, and they were seriously aggressive little buggers. I had quite a few bites. I meant to buy some ant poison and kill the little devil ants, but realize now that I never got around to it. Oh well!

Quickroute January 12, 2009 8:07 pm

@ Matt: Good thinking but maybe I'll blow a fuse

@ AmiExpat: that Kharma will stand you in good stead

Fida February 05, 2009 9:49 pm

I laughed my butt off reading that. It could sooo me.

Oh, and thanks for the link (blush)

I finally found some time and came over for a visit and now I see you have a brand new site. I go now on an exploration tour…
