HUNKY DORY - HUBBA HUBBA!
Would you eat crisps out of her knickers? This is a fairly clever and raunchy advertising campaign for Irish Hunky Dory Crisps (potato chips). I went to a rugby school but the players never looked anything like this (might have had something to do with the fact it was an all boys school run by priests)

Apparently the ad campaign has come under fire for being a bit too provocative. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) said "This advertising campaign is in very bad taste and one which the IRFU would not want to be associated with in any way,"
Cheers to Diarmuidh for bringing this story to my attention

Hmmm, I'd better not buy any Hunky Dory crisps. Jenny might wonder what I've been watching.
@ Nick: just don't let her find the evidence
Had my club's players looked like this I might have played on for a few more years.
Rugby is chilly in the winter. Bet there'd be some pointy bits in that lot.
Clearly I am not qualified to comment here! Other than eating crisps out of somebody's knickers is durrty
@ TCL: Tackling would have been interesting
@ Thrifty: nips galore
@ Baino: more dirty talk pls
good gried has Ireland ever changed in the 12 years I've been away!
Good look with the move - can't wait to hear where you'll be!
@ Conortje: Sure has - thanks
Aaagh! Lads, lads, lads. Don't you know that if any woman ate more than one pack of HD crisps she'd never look like that?!
And to Conor above, Ireland hasn't changed that much - sexism lives no matter how they dress it up!
@ Niamh: True - Advertising is a long way from reality - all this bad press is just making the execs at HD laugh all the way to the bank
The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) said "This advertising campaign is in very bad taste and one which the IRFU would not want to be associated with in any way," Aye but what did they really say behind closed doors - scrumptious mmmm
@ Ryan: Indeed - 'very bad taste' but tasty none the less
I read that the ads were going to be pulled. But then what? Same bums without the rugby reference? Or male bums? Or a tasteful happy family?
@ Nick: or they could blur out the offensive bits - btw - who watches ads anyway? I always zap to another channel
I dont think anyone would've wanted to eat crisps out of any male knickers! Pleas feel free to spark discussion about all things Spain at http://bookspain.ning.com/
So how's it all going in your new location?
Whopper tits! If I could afford to, I'd bring this pic to my plastic surgeon. "THESE PLEEASE!" haha
I saw an article from a feminist, Linda Kelly in the thursday 15th Examiner. In it she say's in relation to the ad. "Proud sponsers of GAA my A*se" the ad is actually "proud supporters of GAA" obviously blinded by the womens beauty.
I also usually skip/mute/fast forward through the ads and I'm not a follower of any sport at all. I'm also not a male of the "Ooh boobs, argh nips, hehehe bum!!!" variety however.....
The ad caught my eye BECAUSE of the controversy, I wanted a better look because I am male, I now know about Hunky Dory crisps and I also know that GAA is a Gaelic football reference and that Gaelic football is like Rugby (you can use hands) and is played by women as well as men.
All in all, I'd say that was an educational 20 minutes that didn't hurt me, women or Gaelic Football in the slightest...
Oh, I also learnt that the Camogie pres, Joan O'Flynn, is a bit insecure about her femininity?
