Newark, New Jersey gets a bad rap next to its famous neighbor New York. It smells worse, it's a bridge or tunnel away, It's the reason for 'Jersey Shore' but it still has a sense of humor. This is a piss-take / parody of "New York - Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z | Alicia Keys - Check it!

But I bet most of the residents of New Jersey would defend their home state to the hilt if you challenged them. People get astonishingly loyal to the place they grew up.
@Nick: True but even residents of NJ (I'm now one) get a kick out of this as there is more than a little truth to it
Newark equals Philip Roth. And his Zuckerman books (read American pastoral you won't be disappointed.)
Is it still a Jewish stronghold?
